The Greater Latrobe Partners in Education Foundation is pleased to welcome new board members Maria Graziano-Bickerstaff and Richard Okonak.
Maria graduated from Greater Latrobe Senior High School in 2011 and obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Marketing from St. Vincent College. While completing her degree at St. Vincent, Graziano-Bickerstaff prepared for a possible career in funeral service by attending the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science. She graduated with an Associate in Specialized Technology Degree in Funeral Service Arts and Sciences. Graziano-Bickerstaff is now a full-time funeral director at Hartman-Graziano Funeral Home, following in the footsteps of her father, uncle, and grandfather. Graziano-Bickerstaff puts her marketing degree to use everyday as she helps manage, update and create content for the funeral home website, Facebook page, and marketing campaigns.
Richard graduated from Greater Latrobe Senior High School in 1997 and has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Marketing from Penn State University. Okonak has worked in the Information Technology and Mortgage Banking industries. He currently is the Vice-President/Secretary and a Trustee of the McFeely-Rogers Foundation.
According to Okonak, “Being born in Latrobe, raised in Latrobe, and graduating from Greater Latrobe Senior High School, I am a true Wildcat who bleeds Orange and Black. I am honored to join the Greater Latrobe Partners In Education Foundation (GLPIEF), which is such a class act organization that does such great work……positive work that improves the lives of many Wildcats. GLPIEF provides opportunities for our Greater Latrobe students, teachers, school district, and our community. I very much look forward to being a part of GLPIEF and to continue the GLPIEF’s mission into the future.”
Graziano-Bickerstaff and Okonak are joining the volunteer board of directors comprised of parents, alumni, and civic and business leaders committed to effectively governing the Greater Latrobe Partners in Education Foundation. The board includes David Arnold, Heidi Kozar, Dana Marcinko, Pam Mt. Joy, Bradley Smith, Dottie Staffen, Lester Sutton, Judith Swigart and Maryann White-Helfferich. The officers of the GLPIEF Board include Julie Jones, president; Robert Demangone, vice president; Keith Visconti, treasurer and Jessica Urbanik, secretary. GLPIEF’s mission is to ensure the highest level of education innovation supporting GLSD students, faculty and staff with community involvement in a partnership of lifetime learning through philanthropic and volunteer opportunities.
