Fall 2015 Grants"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On September 22, 2015 at the GLSD School Board Regular meeting the Greater Latrobe Partners in Education Foundation presented various grants to GLSD totaling $265,850.\u00a0 Jessica Urbanik, the newly appointed President, shared a brief video that showcased the areas of the Foundation\u2019s support. The Education Foundation was formed in 2012 as an independent charitable nonprofit to enhance and enrich the educational experiences of Greater Latrobe students through community support.\u00a0 The Greater Latrobe Partners in Education Foundation have focused their efforts on securing donations for programs and projects that are innovative and build upon GLSD\u2019s tradition of excellence.\u00a0 Jessica Urbanik commented, \u201cI am pleased to announce that the inaugural 2014-2015 annual fund raised over $100,000 from the generosity of parents, teachers, staff, alumni, businesses and foundations. \u00a0Our success speaks volumes about our community\u2019s commitment to great schools and support for the next generation.\u00a0 \u00a0We are very pleased that we exceeded our goal and today we our able to show our donors how we have put their gifts to work.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-259\" src=\"http:\/\/glpief.zanderroth.bitnamiapp.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2015\/09\/AnnualFundCheck-300x157.png\" alt=\"AnnualFundCheck\" width=\"300\" height=\"157\" srcset=\"https:\/\/wordpresszander.s3.amazonaws.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/17\/2015\/09\/07174621\/AnnualFundCheck-300x157.png 300w, https:\/\/wordpresszander.s3.amazonaws.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/17\/2015\/09\/07174621\/AnnualFundCheck-768x403.png 768w, https:\/\/wordpresszander.s3.amazonaws.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/17\/2015\/09\/07174621\/AnnualFundCheck-1024x537.png 1024w, https:\/\/wordpresszander.s3.amazonaws.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/17\/2015\/09\/07174621\/AnnualFundCheck-600x315.png 600w, https:\/\/wordpresszander.s3.amazonaws.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/17\/2015\/09\/07174621\/AnnualFundCheck.png 1148w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>In addition, GLPIEF presented $28,400 in grants from the McFeely-Rogers Foundation. The McFeely-Rogers Foundation has been a long time generous supporter of student enrichment programs and GLPIEF is pleased to accept these grants and make certain these programs continue to thrive in GLSD:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Greater Latrobe Arts Series which supports visiting artists-in-residencies and field trips<\/li>\n<li>Elementary Cultural Enrichment Assembly Program<\/li>\n<li>Learning Support, Autistic Support &amp; Life Skills Classroom Enrichment<\/li>\n<li>McFeely-Rogers Performance Series for Junior and Senior students<\/li>\n<li>6th Grade Camp Arts &amp; Crafts Activities<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The third major announcement was an additional A+ Campaign grant of $135,000 to support the purchase of new computers in all classrooms from kindergarten to third grade.
